Here in the "land of the long white cloud" we are slowly but surely approaching that golden season of summer where the sun shines till 9pm , the air is crisp , clear and warm , the duvets are put out for airing and stored and the weekends are spent at the beach or park soaking up the sun and trying like hell not to catch melanoma. The chicks are out in their minimal best and - God Save the Queen - all is good.
Kyle is now 8and 1/2 months old , crawling around and pulling down everything within reach. He especially takes great pleasure in ripping some fresh grooves onto my collection of CDs.

GT, we already discussed us losing weight last year. I've lost the battle of the bulge years ago and am consoling myself by saying it's hereditary. Anyway here in good ol' Cal we don't have to go for check ups and even if we go on our own accord the machine will probaby be konked out or the technician will be on strike or something. So,little chance of discovering any blockages and so on. Can't even put myself on a diet as these guys haven't heard of fat free chowmein,cholesterol free bhuna, protien enriched puchkas, salt free singharas and so on. I actually cut down on sugar and started on a sugar substitute called Sugarfree. But it took the piss out of me...literally!

I have been qouted some ridiculous fares for Cal/Goa/Cal. The travel agents here say it is cheaper to purchase tickets in India. However, I've heard that the airlines there charge a higher fare for foreign nationals in US$
Can someone enlighten me on this subject please

Texy, I would recommend you get somebody in Cal , maybe Brian G - if you can contact the illusive bastard , that is - to buy you tickets . There are a number of domestic airlines operating the Cal Goa sector like Go Air , Jet Airways, Deccan Airlines and KIngfisher Airlines. Deccan are the cheapest , but highly unreliable in terms of punctuality. At the other end of the scale is Jet which are very reliable but the most espensive.
If you get your Cal contact to buy your tickets , they can pay in rupees so you dont need to worry. You will of course have to carry identification at check in - this is just to ensure you dont belong to Lashkar-i-toiba or The Naxalites .Remember this is peak season so book fast and relax at your own pace in the sunny beaches of Goa.

Dome, I'll probably be in Pune for Xmas. BTW inbetween I went back to Cal for a week or so...it was glorious! I surprised everybody, got lashed at a GAB quiz(DungDung was QM!) and attended Jenny & Eugene's farewell (anybody run into them in Oz yet?). Barry arrived on time and won the quiz, then he told everyone how he LET Osho{BHOBHOBHOAAAAOOHH!!!~~} win all these years as he did not want to humiliate his elder brother!!.....Just kidding, but we really hojoed him about only being able to win when Philip was away.
Anyway, next year is the year of the Khanki reunion, I believe.
